What happens to my body at 6 weeks?
In the 6th week of pregnancy, your uterus is constantly growing while your connective tissue and muscles loosen. The vessels and thus the whole body are better supplied with blood.
This entire process is influenced in the first trimester by the pregnancy hormones, which your body is now producing more. You may now be struggling with the first symptoms of pregnancy:

- Fatigue
- Increased urge to urinate
- Circulatory problems
- Headaches
When these symptoms appear, it is important to listen to your own body: give yourself rest if you have a headache and are not feeling well.

What happens in an ectopic pregnancy?
If you have not yet made an appointment with your gynecologist, you should do so now. As a rule, the first examination takes place in the 7th or 8th week of pregnancy. Perhaps you found out about your pregnancy early on and already had your first check-up in the 6th week of pregnancy.
Your first appointment with your gynecologist will also include the first ultrasound examination.
< p>You will then see the embryo in a C-shape on the screen and it can be checked for the first time whether the embryo has actually implanted properly. If this is not the case, it is probably an ectopic pregnancy.
Various factors can disrupt implantation:
- Damaged fallopian tubes
- An IUD
- Endometriosis
- A muscle layer that is too weak
- Recent abdominal or pelvic surgery
- Fertility problems
Most ectopic pregnancies of this type lead to termination beforehand. The cells are excreted unnoticed during the next period.
Some women also experience abdominal pain and spotting between the 6th and 9th week of pregnancy. Women who have had an ectopic pregnancy once have an increased risk of this happening again.
Only when your gynecologist can confirm that the embryo has implanted will you receive your maternity card.
